CityQuest privacy notice
Effective 12 August 2026. This launch notice must be reviewed by CityQuest Africa’s legal and privacy advisers before public field play.
What we collect
We may collect Studio account details, organization roles, Adventure content, Session participation, nicknames, challenge answers, score events, coarse operational analytics and support messages. A guest can play without providing an email address.
Camera and location
Recognition runs in the player’s browser using MindAR. Camera frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded by the scanner. Camera access begins only after a player chooses to scan. An Adventure may request location only when its operator explicitly enables a proximity rule; location is not used by the supplied demo.
Use, sharing and retention
Data is used to operate Sessions, prevent abuse, calculate scores, support players and improve CityQuest. Access is limited by organization role. The default operational plan is 30 days for guest participant records, 90 days for raw analytics and 365 days for completed Sessions, subject to an approved contract, safeguarding or legal requirement.
Your choices
You can decline camera access and ask the Host for an available fallback. For access, correction or deletion requests, email hello@cityquest.africa. CityQuest must confirm the appropriate Ghana data-controller contact and escalation procedure before launch.
